At
RMS, our knowledge and expertise in the area of Traffic Engineering,
gathered through years of successful project completion is
virtually unmatched. We have worked with the NYSDOT and a
variety of municipal agencies as well as private developers
on over 500 projects. These projects involve all aspects of
traffic and transportation engineering including: the analysis
of the impact of proposed new development on existing roadway
systems (many involving NYSDOT roadways), the preparation
of detailed reports, and the expert testimony in support of
applications. In addition, we have prepared detailed transportation
design plans for facilities affected by proposed developments
and prepared detailed design plans for improvements to various
roadways for municipalities.

Case Study
One recent project is the redevelopment of the Roosevelt Raceway,
known as Roosevelt Center. The project is a 172.8-acre
Planned Unit Development, approved for 2.3 million square
feet of mixed uses, including major retail superstores, hotels,
offices, assisted living facilities and high-density housing.
In addition to producing the voluminous traffic impact study
presented for approval, RMS also successfully aquired all
highway work permits required by state and county agencies
for the design of related roadway improvements.
